OOMA Info |
OOMA is a loose-knit
ministers association, no “membership” or dues. In 1990’s pastors in Oxford/Orion started
meeting to have fellowship, just to get to know each other. Over the years we have started doing a few
things together: National Day of
Prayer, Good Friday Service, Thanksgiving, with
offerings taken for local ministries:
Love INC, Pregnancy Center, F.I.S.H.
We are also sometimes
involved with the Oxford HS Baccalaureate Service. ·

Opening Prayer
& Devotional |
Prayer shared by this

Guidance and Gifts, a prayer “from God” blessing His servants with His
grace to serve. Peggy,
new chairperson of the affiliate for Love INC, shared regarding changes to
Love in the Name of Christ, some of which is embodied in the attached article
by the current pope of the Catholic church.

pantry” Don also asked for prayer regarding a nerve condition. Bob

a cerebral palsy hospital singing Christmas carols. Kathy

Love INC |
Sandy
shared regarding many changes at Love INC and training she
and Peggy attended last week. Changes
have happened at the national level, and we have been encouraged by national
to move forward with “Redemptive compassion”.
First steps are training for board of directors and clearinghouse
volunteers and all other volunteers, ministry coordinators, and clergy on
“The Defining Difference” and the process of Love INC. Another step is to apply for grants for
transformational ministry including hiring a coordinator for these
ministries. Some practical differences
involve limits on usage of material needs (such as clothes closet). One of the first classes we are working on
is developing budget counseling for clients.
Churches
were encouraged to spread the word about the coming changes. |
