OOMA Info

OOMA is a loose-knit ministers association, no “membership” or dues.  In 1990’s pastors in Oxford/Orion started meeting to have fellowship, just to get to know each other.  Over the years we have started doing a few things together:  National Day of Prayer, Good Friday Service, and Thanksgiving, with offerings taken for local ministries:  Love INC, Pregnancy Center, F.I.S.H.

We are also sometimes involved with the Oxford HS Baccalaureate Service.

Christmas In Action of Oakland County
February 16, 2015

Dear Rochelle,

This will provide an brief update on CIA activities in Oakland County.

The Clarkston Council has made the decision to disband and will not be involved in Work Day in 2015.  This was a difficult decision for the leadership group but one that needed to be made and is similar to the decision made by the Waterford Council last year.  I would like to thank Diane Midgley and her leadership team for their years of service to the Clarkston Community.

This now leaves two active Councils in Oakland County: the Northeast Council, serving Addison, Oakland, Orion and Oxford Townships, and the Detroit Council, serving the Historic North End.  Plans for the 2015 Work Day, April 25 continue to move forward for both groups.  Volunteer forms are available on request at cianecouncil@gmail.com.

The Northeast Council will hold their fourth annual Euchre Party Fundraiser on Friday, February 20, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lake Orion. Dinner is served at 6 PM and cards will start at 7 PM. tickets are available at the door, $25.00 per person, BYOB, soft drinks, set-ups and coffee will be available. There is still plenty of room so come out for a fun evening.

The CIA Oakland County office will be closed as of March 1, and we will operate as a "virtual office", (saving money that can be used to help low-income seniors). Our new phone system is through Grasshopper, (844) 457-9368, and will direct callers directly to an individual Council member responsible for a specific Township.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Larry Hice
